Election Tit-bits
ASTO election is going on in full swing in Karaikal. In the first phase from 11/4/2008 to 15/04/2008 approximately 208 votes in fields, 249 votes in Neravy and 11 posatl votes have been polled. Its approximately 60% of the total votes of 793 votes
Reecntly I sent an SMS asking to save ASTO from foreign elements. Some candidates who are being sponsored by the foreign elements were commenting on "Foreign Element".
If in India if you are not having valid Id card you are a foreign element.
In ONGC, if u don't have membership of ASTO, you are a foreign element for ASTO.
The whole world knows that the same people who were commenting are sponsored by the foreign elements and they have decided to destroy the diginity of ASTO community. Should these candidates who are sponsored and blessed by Foreign elements be elected? Dear ASTO members, you just decide!

Important Announcement
Dear ASTO members,
ASTO election 2008-10 I phase started and is going on well, but for small incidents here and there.
Some candidates are distributing hand notices even when the voter is entering the polling booth, which is gainst all ethics.
Some candidates are distributing pens with their name printed and the post for which they are contesting. Its highly objectionable. Even before the election how they can use the post?
The height of all these is the following incident. One candidate was proudly saying his supporteres are recording their ballot papers after casting the votes and showing to the gentleman. This is highly condemned. This is against all democratic norms. Let the Returning officer note this down and see that no recording of polled papers are done by the voters. Otherwise, fearing the outsider, the voter is not allowed free polling.

Congrats Shri Rajan Pillai and his team who were elected as ASTO executives from Baroda.
This once again proves that Officers community likes those who can die for them in Hunger strike rather than who are waiting to take an opportunity to stay in 5 star hotels.

I am sorry to say that such leaders were coming to ASTO office to have Bondas and they have no other issues to discuss.
I have already told that its not loud voice or barking needed to tackle issues. Its only tactics and strategies will solve the issues. Forget and show the way to canteen to those immatured leaders.
If you see Tamilnadu History, the Man (Shivaji Ganesan)who had a continuos dialogue delivering capability did not rule the state. The man(Kalaingar) who wrote those dialogues only ruled the State. The Man ( so called Malayalee _ MG Ramachandran) who lost part of his speaking ability in an accident only Ruled Tamilnadu

The Dream House
Once upon a time there was an old mason. He has been working for a contractor for a long time. One day, he decides to call it a day and wanted to enjoy his retired life. He approaches his owner and tells him his wish. The owner was not ready to leave such a wonderful worker. He tells the mason, ?Look my dear, You have been loyal and honest to me. Your workmanship is excellent. So do me a favour. Please build me a dream house. It should be the best project you have ever undertaken?, so saying he gives him the plan of the dream house.
Mason started the dream house. But he was not the true and honest man. He cheated at every step by false accounting of materials. But finished the house which looked beautiful from outside. The quality was very poor that he only knows.
The mason finishes the dream house and hands over to the owner. The owner was very much satisfied. He appreciates the mason, ?Look man. You have done a wonderful job of your life time and in I want to reward you. Take the key of the house. From now onwards this house is yours?. So saying he hands over the key to the mason.
Thousands of lightning struck the mason. ?Oh what a bad man I?m. Had I known that this house will come to me, I would have used the quality materials? so saying, he collapses and breaths his last.

P.R.Kumar, SE(D) for President
S.Dhayalan, Dy.SE(Elx.) for Vice President
S.Kalaimani,SE(D), for Secretary
M.Robert, AE(D), for Jt. Secretary
Last time honorable asto members elected myself and Mr.Kalaimani from our panel. Till last we were united. people from other panel who came with their personal agenda could not work in harmony with us.
Hence my humble request is vote for the panel and not individuals

We talk less and do more. Shouting is a bad sign of hypertension. We raise our voice where it should be.
Long back there was an issue in ASTO. That time I was not in office. One of the ASTO members done a serious crime. But ASTO executives want to bail him out. They stood at the gate and were shouting. They shouted that officers should not go inside. But I stepped inside and others followed me.
That kind of unwanted shouting I won't do. Do you agree?
Its all election gimmicks. Last time they were telling that Kumar is a Malayalee, so don't cast your vote for him. This time they claim that I don't open my mouth. These people think that voters can be taken for a ride somehow.
God has given us one mouth and two ears. He is not a fool. He gave two ears to listen more and one mouth to talk less rather shout less !
We are silent but active. We have history of achievements !

One of the contestants claims that he has been disturbed(Transferred) from the post of RIC by P.R.Kumar and he wants the reason for the unceremonous removal?

Nice question. Now only I understand that Kumar is so powerful. Dear friends, leave alone RIC, even disturbing an AE from one shift to another shift is not possible without the approval of HDS. Its the whole Rig crew signed their concern aginst the individual. There was a struggle to remove him. HDS was of the opinion that he was the best RIC and can't be removed. ASTO had to give it in writing. Then the Asset Manager constituted an one man committee under the Chairmanship of Dr. Naidu. He personnaly went to Rig and enquired about the gentleman and submitted the report. Based on the report aftre 6 months he was shifted. HDS always has a softcorner for some persons. The RIC of E1400-9 was doing a good job. HDS wanted to put this gentleman replacing the E1400-9 RIC. Again rigcrew approached ASTO and this gentleman was shifted to E760-16 rig. E760-16 rig crew also refused to take him as RIC. That is the real story.
